The Palm Beach Tech Hackathon is a three day event where participants form teams, vet ideas, create a project, then present their work to an expert panel of judges.

The event will benefit the School District of Palm Beach County and the STEM Education Council, supporting our local community through technology. This is also an opportunity to volunteer your talents to support local nonprofits.

Teams will consist of engineers, designers, developers and entrepreneurs, with successful teams having a mix of these areas of expertise and winners walking away with a combination of cash and in ­kind prizes!

The South Florida Science Center exists to “Open every mind to science” and provide curious minds of all ages with an entertaining & educational journey through science and technology.


What is a Hackathon?

A hackathon is a 24 hour competition where participants form teams, vet ideas, create a project, then present their work to a panel of judges.

What makes it unique?

Our Hackathon is intended to serve our community, specifically the schools, students, and families in the Palm Beaches

How does it work?

First you register, then form a team at the kickoff party, build your solution, and lastly present to the judges.

What to bring?

A laptop, laptop charger, phone charger, headphones, pillow, toiletries, change of clothes, and a great attitude.

Will there be food?

All meals will be provided with extra treats and plenty of coffee throughout the weekend as well as.

Do I have to be a developer?

Definitely not. We welcome designers, writers, creatives, and anyone with an idea, there’s a place for you!
